18 People Who Prove Anyone Can Be Someone’s Superhero

The first hero with superpowers was created in a comic book in 1938, and today we know him as Superman. Not all heroes wear capes, and most of them are disguised in regular clothing. They walk around unnoticed, and while some of them are family or friends, others are mere strangers to us.

Bright Side uncovered the veil around some people that impacted the lives of those around them, and we got goosebumps while reading about them — we hope you’ll love it too.

1. “My brother has Ectrodactyly — a rare genetic disorder — and I made him his first pair of gloves.”

2. “I made a post online explaining how I lost everything but my job and am now homeless.”

“I was just asking for advice, but a kind-hearted person made sure I had a warm meal to eat. Thank you, so much.”

3. “A random stranger at the grocery store gave them to me.”

“Said she saw me with my two beautiful daughters, ’Thought these might make you smile. You are doing a good job.’ She’ll never know how much I needed to hear that.

4. “Everybody, meet Howard the Hero.”

“My dad (on the right) left his phone on the roof of his car and drove away, and it fell off while he was on a 6-lane interstate. Howard (on the left) saw the phone in the middle of the road, pulled over, and got it!”

5. “My 13-year-old dove hurt his claw, so to keep him off of it I made him into a little burrito until his wound clotted.”

6. “My friend who works at the aquarium thought that the best way to cheer me up was to introduce me to her derpy little friend.”

7. “My S.O. is about to get her period, so I made her macarons.”

8. “Came out as trans to my parents this year. My mom made me break down crying with this one.”

9. “I spent a week with my family in another state mourning the unexpected loss of my grandmother.”

“My husband picked me up at the airport at 1 am with a dapper suit on, 2 dozen roses, and a huge smile made me feel so loved. I completely adore this man.”

10. “My neighbor asked me to do her a HUGE favor and pick up these two. I made time for it.”

11. “This little guy made the mistake of venturing into the off-leash dog park.”

“Luckily, my greyhound just chased him until exhaustion and then left him alone. We were able to locate his mother and let him go safely away from the dogs.”

12. “Today, I’m in Norway, I got my cornea from an anonymous donor in America.”

“Whoever you were, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

13. “My rescue calms down when he’s held or in blankets, so I made him a security sweater.”

14. “My aunt painted grandpa’s hospital gowns to look like he’s wearing real clothes, bringing a little cheer to hospice care.”

15. “After being unable to afford an electric guitar for 52 years, mom made him speechless today.”

16. “My husband donated a kidney, as well as a new life to his cousin on Tuesday.”

17. “3 weeks ago, I was on a train when a stranger next to me started to read a book out loud.”

“His voice was so clear, so warm, and so perfect that I almost thought it was a recording. I invited him to our animation studio for a voiceover audition. Now he’s hired.

18. “3 years ago today, a stranger saved my life.”

“I asked my gaming community for a real-life superhero who would donate a kidney to me. Many people came forward and she was a match. I’m happy to be alive!”
